The brains you had went to your head

Beer was the melancholy of my childhood

Beer is the pleasure of my youth

It should scare me that everything I reject eventually turn sweet

But it doesn't quite scare me because I feel like I'm made of plastic

And that's probably because I am

made.

I love this song and video so much. I recall watching it as a kid, trying to understand its weirdness. I still don't think I've quite grasped the meaning of it all but the moaning melody and confusing video that accompany it still draws so much of emotion out of me.

My interpretation:

The machine is trying to fix robot no.1 but is unsuccessful at the head where sparks fly out. Female robot no.2 appears and water gushes up the vagine of robot no.1 (that's what it looks like to me- you can see her look up from there in that scene and also the belly button is shown where the fluid flowing upward passes) and they both then caress. The machine keeps trying to fix them.

If I were to read into the video literally, I would relate it to homosexuality. Although external forces try to fix the couple, it cannot for the love/fluid that is vital to survival is still flowing. It may tamper with the body but not the mind. Plus, even though unnatural like the robots, all is full of love.

Nice song, but super weird video. I'm still not comfortable watching such intimacy, especially between non-heterosexual beings (or non-beings) :P
